DESNZ seeks consortium for industrial decarbonisation research programme.
The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) seeks a consortium to deliver a research programme building the policy-relevant evidence base for industrial decarbonisation and carbon management. The programme covers four main work packages: industrial fuel switching (electrification and alternative fuels), resource and energy efficiency, carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) and engineered greenhouse gas removals, and life cycle assessment methods. Additional work packages include a flexible fund for emerging evidence needs, data and stakeholder engagement, and stand-alone projects. The consortium must have expertise across industrial sectors, decarbonisation measures, technology assessment, and policy analysis, employing methods such as literature reviews, quantitative/qualitative data collection, modelling, and stakeholder engagement. The programme is expected to produce reports, data, models, decision support tools, case studies, and on-call briefings, co-designed with policy stakeholders.
