Multi-supplier framework for primary transformers supply and installation.
Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution plc and Southern Electric Power Distribution plc (SSEN) are establishing a multi-supplier framework agreement for the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of medium power oil-immersed three-phase double-wound primary transformers. The transformers will operate at primary voltages of 33kV, 22kV, and 11kV, with power ratings from 1.5MVA to 20/40MVA. They must be designed for parallel supply schemes and capable of full rated load under loss of a partner transformer, including reverse power flow. The scope includes cooling systems, tap changers, control and monitoring equipment, protection interfaces, initial oil fill, and installation services. SSEN aims to adopt a standardized modular design to reduce variation and improve efficiency.
