Woodland restoration with invasive species control and native planting.
The National Trust seeks a contractor to act as Forest Works Manager for woodland restoration at Castle Ward Estate in Northern Ireland. The project involves invasive species control (cherry laurel, Rhododendron ponticum), sycamore thinning, and enrichment planting of native species, particularly hazel, to restore semi-natural broadleaf woodland. Works must be delivered between 1 October 2026 and 28 February 2027, with follow-up invasive species treatments in 2027 and 2028. The contractor must ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practice, and all communication is via the Proactis Plaza portal.
