Independent review of System Operator performance for Electricity Authority.
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (the Authority) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an independent review of the System Operator's performance and value for money. The review will assess how the System Operator's performance should be evaluated. The contract is expected to run from 16 September 2026 to 18 December 2026. Suppliers will be evaluated on relevant experience, proposed solution, capacity, economic benefits to New Zealand, and overall value for money. This is an advance notice; the RFP is expected mid-July 2026.
