University of Canterbury seeks portable recording equipment for Ron Ball Studio.
The University of Canterbury (UC) is procuring professional-grade portable recording equipment for the Ron Ball Studio at Christchurch Town Hall, to be jointly used with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) under a Memorandum of Understanding. The equipment will support orchestral, ensemble, and screen scoring recording for teaching, research, and industry engagement within the Digital Screen Programme. Key requirements include professional-grade audio fidelity, portability, modular design, multi-channel orchestral recording capability, and reliable synchronization. The solution must integrate with existing UC and CSO infrastructure and be suitable for deployment across multiple environments. This is a strategic investment to fill a gap in the production lifecycle for film, game, and animation music scoring.
