Redecoration and repair of Hoy High Lighthouse, Orkney.
The Northern Lighthouse Board seeks a contractor for full external and internal redecoration of Hoy High Lighthouse on Graemesay, Orkney. Works include replacing broken glazing panes in the lightroom, investigating and repointing masonry elevations, and repairing minor defects. The site is accessible by road on the island, which is reached by ferry from Stromness; contractors must familiarize themselves with ferry arrangements, as some are passenger-only. The lighthouse is a traditional 34m high tower with quarterdeck, housing welfare, battery, and control rooms, plus a garage block with an NLB utility vehicle. The contract covers all necessary materials and labor for the redecoration and repairs.
