Taxonomic analysis of benthic invertebrates and sediment for DFO Arctic research.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires taxonomic identification of marine benthic invertebrates from samples collected in the Canadian Arctic Ocean. The work includes sorting, species-level identification, abundance and biomass estimates, creation of reference collections, and preservation. Sediment analysis for grain size, pigments, and organic matter may also be required. The contract is a 4-year Standing Offer for one vendor, with call-ups as needed. Expertise in taxonomy and continuity of identifiers are key requirements.
