Develop TCAP for tritium/deuterium/protium separation in fusion fuel cycle.
UK Fusion Energy Ltd (UKFE) seeks to develop a Thermal Cycling Absorption Process (TCAP) for adjusting isotopic composition of tritium, deuterium, and protium within the STEP Fuel Cycle, aiming to deliver STEP by the 2040s. The fuel cycle will operate as a closed loop: injecting fuel into plasma, capturing unspent fuel from exhaust, purifying, separating, and reinjecting it for efficient tritium recycling. Multiple gas separations are required, and testing is needed to support selection and design of separation technologies. This is a research and development opportunity for a specialized isotope separation system.
