UK continues CO₂ retrieval algorithm development for MicroCarb satellite mission.
The UK Space Agency (UKSA) requires continued support for the MicroCarb satellite mission, led by CNES (France), which measures atmospheric CO₂. This contract covers CO₂ retrieval algorithm development, post-launch data exploitation, and technical engagement through the MicroCarb Advisory Group (MAG). Key activities include adapting NASA-developed retrieval software for MicroCarb's spectral bands, incorporating prior information modules, and assessing retrieval performance. The work builds on previous UK contributions and aims to transition MicroCarb to an operational data exploitation phase. The contract runs for the remainder of FY 2026-27, with a focus on algorithm robustness and validation readiness.
