RFI for innovative, scalable school lunch solutions in New Zealand.
The Ministry of Education is seeking information on innovative approaches to deliver a cost-efficient, scalable Healthy School Lunch programme for approximately 240,000 students across 1,015 schools in New Zealand. The programme currently provides universal lunches to 25% of students. The Ministry is exploring options for localized ingredient sourcing, production, and delivery suitable for school clusters, minimizing weather impacts for isolated communities, and increasing flexibility through innovative funding and partnerships. This RFI targets solutions for groups of students within regions. A market briefing is scheduled for 16 June 2026.
