Defra seeks suppliers for FMD antigen and vaccine bank supply from 2028.
The UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) is exploring options for supply of antigen and vaccines to the UK foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine bank. They seek existing and potential suppliers who have FMD vaccines with robust evidence of quality, safety, and efficacy, and who can supply suitable products from early 2028. Heterologous vaccine products will not be considered. This is a market engagement exercise to inform guarantees of supply to the UK market, with a deadline for responses of 24th July 2026.
