The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is seeking market engagement for lyophilisation (freeze-drying) services for X-ray irradiated pathogens to support pandemic preparedness. The supplier must handle irradiated inactive viral and bacterial material, develop and optimise lyophilisation protocols, have an ISO 9001 quality system, and provide QC testing including thermal stability and contaminant absence. The scope involves lyophilising up to 20 pathogens over 4 years, with vial volumes of 0.3-2 mL, batch sizes of 6-100 mL, and an estimated 5 batches per year.
