Surveyor needed for condition survey of former department store for affordable housing redevelopment.
Lancaster City Council seeks a qualified Building Surveyor to review existing condition surveys and inspect Centenary House, a former department store in Morecambe. The five-storey building (approx. 2,583-2,700 sq m) has been largely vacant for over 30 years, with a ground-floor retail tenant. The Council aims to dispose of the property to a housing association for affordable housing redevelopment, funded by a £450,000 Brownfield Land Release Fund grant. The surveyor must assess the building's condition to support remediation works within this budget.
