Community energy advocacy for minority households in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
Wales & West Utilities Limited is directly awarding a contract for community-based energy advocacy across Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, targeting minority and marginalized households facing barriers to energy services. The project will deploy trained Community-Based Energy Advocates (CBEAs) embedded in trusted community settings to provide culturally competent, face-to-face support. Objectives include reducing fuel poverty, increasing Priority Services Register uptake, preventing self-disconnection, and promoting gas safety. The project builds on prior GD2 Reach Out delivery and addresses structural barriers such as language, digital exclusion, and mistrust of statutory services.
