Heritage refurbishment of Grade II* listed Theatre Royal Margate.
Thanet District Council seeks an experienced contractor for the refurbishment and restoration of the Grade II* listed Theatre Royal Margate, the second oldest theatre in the UK (built 1787). The works include heritage-sensitive redecoration, specialist plasterwork, new stairs, toilets, bars, a lift extension, HVAC upgrades (Part L), and fire/life safety upgrades (Part B). The contract is expected to start November 2026 and last 11 months. Bidders must submit tenders via the Kent Business Portal by 28 August 2026.
