Manage and administer the matrix Standard quality accreditation service.
The Department for Education seeks a single provider to manage, administer, and deliver the matrix Standard, the UK government's quality standard for information, advice, and guidance on learning and work. The contract covers nationwide assessment and accreditation services for organizations seeking certification, including initial assessments, certification reviews, and annual Continuous Improvement Checks (CICs). As of December 2025, approximately 1,380 organizations are accredited, with several hundred assessments and checks annually. The provider must manage a network of qualified independent practitioners, maintain the matrix Standard website and digital services, manage the practitioner register (including recruitment and training), ensure quality assurance, provide management information to the Department, and promote the standard. The service is a concession contract funded through fees charged to organizations and practitioners, covering England with possible wider UK coverage.
