Marine sampling and analysis services for Hinkley Point C nuclear site.
Cefas, on behalf of the BEEMS programme funded by NNB Generation Company (HPC) Limited, seeks a supplier to conduct marine sampling and laboratory analysis for environmental monitoring near the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. The contract covers water and sediment sampling from a vessel in Bridgwater Bay, including water column profiling (CTD) and analysis of physical and chemical parameters. Sampling will occur over approximately 3 days annually (2 days water, 1 day sediment) in summer 2026, with potential annual renewal for up to 4 additional years. Suppliers must provide a vessel, sampling equipment, and laboratory analysis (excluding hydrazine), and submit a Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) prior to surveys. The buyer is the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), a UK government agency.
