Biosecurity coordinator for Velvetleaf control across North Island.
Waikato Regional Council seeks a supplier to coordinate biosecurity efforts against Velvetleaf across the North Island of New Zealand. The role involves advocacy, education, and support for control and prevention measures targeting the rural and arable sectors. The ideal candidate should understand these sectors and general biosecurity practices, be proactive and self-managing, and able to travel extensively, especially during peak season from October to May. The contract may expand to other pest plants in the future. A respondent briefing session is scheduled for 20 July 2026.
