Vessel charter for DFO snow crab survey on Scotian Shelf.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires a vessel to serve as a platform for the annual snow crab trawl survey on the Scotian Shelf, up to 400 stations per year. The vessel must carry a minimum crew of a captain and three members plus three scientific personnel. Work occurs between August 1 and January 15 annually, with exact dates determined by DFO. The contract runs from award to July 31, 2027, with four optional one-year extensions. The vessel must berth at various ports along the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia.
