Summary

The Department of Internal Affairs (New Zealand) invites expressions of interest for up to 15 online casino gambling licences under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026. Applicants must have access to a minimum of NZD $7.5 million in capital. The EOI is the first stage of a three-stage licensing process, followed by an auction and then a licence application stage. Submissions must use approved EOI forms and be submitted by 14 August 2026. Potential applicants may notify the Department of their intention to submit by 10 August 2026 for planning purposes.
