MCA seeks aerial surveillance for maritime situational awareness.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is procuring a Search and Surveillance service to provide near real-time situational awareness in support of specialized search and rescue operations. The service will involve intelligence, search, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets, and does not require national coverage. During high-risk periods, assets may operate 24/7 for consecutive days or weeks. The MCA is solution-agnostic and open to different technological approaches that can demonstrate persistent maritime situational awareness. The procurement is separate from the UKSAR2G contract for helicopters and planes.
